Brian Polk is the author of the novel, Placement of Character. His first book, Turning Failure into Ideology, was self-published in 2006. He publishes the zine The Yellow Rake, which began in 2004 and has released 30 issues over its existence. Currently he plays drums in the bands Joy Subtraction, which has released two full-length albums, and Simulators, which has a record in the works.
